Rev. Eric George
Vickers, Sr.
Affectionately known as “Pastor E” by the members of his congregation, The Reverend Eric George Vickers, Sr., M.Div. serves with distinction as Senior Pastor of Fairfield Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia. Pastor Vickers accepted the call to lead this vibrant and historic congregation on October 1, 2021. In a time of excitement and renewal, Fairfield has embraced Rev. Vickers’ challenge of becoming an intergenerational church that is “striving to become a Whole People taking the Whole Gospel to the Whole World.” Launching out in faith, Pastor Vickers is motivated to lead Fairfield forward in worship, discipleship, stewardship and fellowship. Regarded as a caring shepherd, courageous servant and creative scholar, Rev. Vickers’ passion for faithful exposition and social justice has yielded opportunities to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the United States and around the world.
Biography
From May 2016 until October 2021, Pastor Vickers led the Beulah Baptist Church of Atlanta in a time of dynamic spiritual growth, significant administrative strides and progressive infrastructural enhancements. Notable highlights included: membership increase, budget expansion, disaster relief efforts and a shift to daily operations. Under his leadership, the church executed a comprehensive technological upgrade, reestablished 501c(3) nonprofit status, completed $500K in debt free campus improvements, revitalized existing ministries, formed new ministries and renewed focus on Christian education and community engagement. Most notably, Pastor Vickers led Beulah through the darkest days of COVID-19 pandemic with faith and creativity.
Biography
Rev. Vickers was licensed and ordained by Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of Pontiac, Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College, the Master of Divinity degree from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, and is in study for the Doctor of Ministry degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Rev. Vickers is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Prince Hall Masons, and the 100 Black Men of South Metro. He functions in denominational roles and is seated on several organizational boards. Rev. Vickers’ greatest joy is the gift of his family. He is happily married to Mrs. Cierra Vickers, M.Ed. and they are the proud parents of Eric Jr. and Charese Madison Brielle.
